Dispute returned faulty item

I recently sold a phono pre-amp that the buyer then said was faulty.

I tried to work with the buyer explaining why he may be having problems, but he insisted on returning it.

I agreed for him to return it to me and paid postage ( as £Bay gives the seller no other option).

I have received the item, tested it, producing a video of the full unpacking and testing process, and as suspected, there is nothing wrong with it.

I would like to send it back to him, and not refund as a matter of principle.

Can I do this?

I am really miffed by the whole thing, but fear I am trapped by a complete time waster!

Thanks for any advice.

You can appeal the outcome of a case here:

But you shouldn't try to send it back.   eBay may force the refund anyway and you could end up with no item.
