I have sold an item to a buyer in the Channel Islands. EBay have told him when trying to pay that I do not post to there. C.I. is definitely not one of my excluded locations and have posted to there previously. Spoke to eBay who confirmed aok at my end and problem must be at buyers end.
Buyer has since spoken to eBay who tell him all is ok with him and problem must be at my end!
any offers as to how this can be resolved?

The issue is Evri and Simple Delivery, for some reason the two together are not compatible. 🤔
You may need to cancel the order with the buyer's permission, this refunds them, explain the issue here.
Relist the item, and delete Evri from that listing. You can add that buyer's ID to your exemption list too, can do no harm.
Many are coming across this situation, and no fix on the horizon !

It's to do with Simple Delivery using Evri who charge EU rates for the Channel Islands, whereas Royal Mail charge UK rates. You can either cancel and relist opting out of Evri in your postage preferences. Or put the buyer's ID on your exemption list to lift blocks and see if that helps:

Private sellers now have to use Simple Delivery and Evri, RM an d DHL are the postage options for buyers.
Use the link below to deselect Evri from that listing, and future ones, if you do not wish to use Evri.

Put them on your exemption list anyway.

I should mention the item in question is a large parcel weighing 4 kilos. Does this effect the issue at all?

Would it help if I resisted with free postage and with an increased buy it now option?

That sounds like a good plan. If they can't pay you'll end up cancelling anyway so you might as well try another way. Let the buyer know what you're doing so they can buy again. There is an issue with the CIs so I'd use the exemption list too.

Thanks for your considerations. I'll put that option to the buyer.
