Desonest seller

The seller said the item was used. This isn't possible because the sensor is too thick to fit into the intended location.
The seller committed fraud when returning the product. The photo the seller posted shows the item I purchased next to the returned box, but it hasn't been opened yet. They duplicated it with another sensor.

Can you explain what has happened?

If you explain the issue clearly, you may get some help and advice.

Desonest seller

You bought an item and returned it.

Then the seller claimed you had used the item and gave you a 50% refund.

Is that what happened?

Some business sellers are allowed to deduct up to 50% of the price if the item is returned in a different condition.

Obviously, nobody will see the item apart from you and the seller.  You say it was unused, they say it had been taken out of the box and was therefore 'in a different condition'.

You can contact Ebay and complain that you think a 50% deduction was unfair.

Or, you may be able to ask your payment provider to start a chargeback to get the rest of your money.  I don't know if that is possible, and it may depend on why you returned the item.
