Delivered but not showing as delivered

I have an unusual problem, I made an error with simple delivery, and dropped it at a drop off point rather than waiting on the courier to collect. I also managed to put the wrong item in the box!. Once I discovered this I sent the correct item directly to the buyer using a faster courier. They have now received the item and are happy. I eventually retrieved the original item, as it count be accepted into the system. The delivered item is not showing as delivered, can the buyer mark as received and override the system. I have tried eBay help but the bot just gets confused as it’s an edge case I guess.

 

Labelling this as item not received as I can’t see any other appropriate category

There is no method by which a buyer can mark an item as received,  they can leave feedback,  but this will not expediate any payout for that item.

 

Try adding the new tracking number into the order details, you may need a laptop / PC and not the app or mobile browser for this.  Chrome works well.

 

  • Go to "Orders Paid & Dispatched"
  • Click on "View order details"
  • Within the "Postage" section there's a small dropdown arrow next to "Track Package" - click on that.
  • Click on the "Add tracking" option
  • A box will come up with the current tracking number . Delete that and replace it with your tracking.

Your payout may be held for a minimum of 14 days as Simple Delivery was not used here.

 

If there was an unused Simple Delivery label, for a refund:

 

  • If you selected 'Buyer pays’ when you created the listing, your buyer will automatically be refunded for any Simple Delivery label that isn’t used after 30 days
 
  • If you selected ‘Seller pays’ and offered free postage on your listing, you'll need to fill out the Request a refund for Simple Delivery form for the label that wasn’t used. Make sure to send your request within 14 days of your item selling.  Also ensure you add the replacement tracking number of the service used, and it shows delivery.

Thanks, I seem to have made some progress. I have added the new tracking number, and it is showing together with the old one. It won’t let me delete the old one, but I’ll leave it a while and see what happens. Thanks for your help.

Mmm,  the old one should have deleted,  however, as you say you've now done all you can and as said you will get paid but it may take a minimum of 14 days.

Once you have more feedback as a seller, this sort of problem will not happen as money is released within 24 hours, sometimes same day.
