Defective Phone Purchase

I purchased a Google 8 Pro phone in May this year. The returns window was 27th June. I contacted the seller on this day indicating that the phone kept freezing, and rebooting... that I had done factory resets, restricted which apps were working, and yet it was still crashing. The seller did not respond. I left what I thought was a fair amount of time for them to respond, and send a follow up on 13th August. The seller responded but only advised I contact Google repairs... I'd already checked that, and the phone is not under UK warranty as the EMEI number was not covered - the phone had been imported. I want a refund, as I have no use for a phone that crashes 3 times a day... so I'm back on my old phone. What are my next steps to get a refund here?

Its too late to do anything via ebay.  Contact your payment provider and ask about a refund or chargeback.

You had 30 days from the delivery date to open a case through ebay, once that passes they can't help you.

You state in your post ... 'the returns window was 27th June.'

So, there is nothing you can do through Ebay because you didn't open a return request in time.

Generally, your payment provider will give 120 days to start a chargeback.  If there is time, go to your bank for a chargeback.
