Damage in transit

Hi

I recently sent a well packed and protected item to a seller and it arrived damaged. I used E Bay simple delivery and understood that ebay would sort this out for me. The seller has asked for a refund and I only have two options - partial refund or return goods for full refund.

There is no option to ask E bay to step in and I can't find any details on how to report this to Ebay for them to sort out for me.

Can anyone offer some advice please.

Thanks

Depends what case buyer opened.

If it was damaged in transit, ebay refund buyer and you keep money.

If it was not as described case, you issue returns label and refund on return.

You can offer a part refund, but buyer does not have to agree.

Or you can refund without return.

Re: Damage in transit

If buyer used "item damaged" ebay should have refunded and you keep payment.  Use the help link to try and get through to a real person and ask them to check it for you.

If if was simple delivery and if your buyer opened a case for arrived damaged or damaged in transit, then the case goes nowhere near you as ebay automatically intervenes.

You just get notified that the buyer 'reached out'.

One of those things didn't happen, either it wasn't simple delivery or the buyer used another reason.
