Customer requests refund after a month of receiving the order

Hi all, so I have a situation and not sure how to resolve it:

I sold a used muscle toner which I had lying in a wardrobe for few years, I used it maybe 3 times in my life and last time I used it it worked fine.
so I shipped the item, customer received it and after more than a month of receiving he messaged me that item is faulty and doesn’t work. He sent me a photo of a pin on a control panel being pushed in and not coming out which I don’t recall having but I have no proof.

What would you do about it? Would you agree to accept item back or would you consider that 1 month was enough to check item quality and would refuse the refund?

If it's more than 30 days since delivery it's too late for them to get a refund via a "not as described" case with ebay so it's up to you.
