Custom Postage - how do I choose it?

In some of my listings ebay has changed the custom postage over to simple posting, I dont want simple posting I want to choose custom postage. When I spoke to the agent they are saying it isnt a option unless you are a business account.... it is evident this is all a con to get people who arent even a business to change over to a business account and pay more money to ebay.... I can't believe after selling for 10 years with ebay they just make changes like this without even thinking of loyal users.. please tell me there is a way around this and I can choose custom postage somehow. ... please tell me step by step how to do this.

Re: Custom Postage - how do I choose it?

Wish there was a way round, this is ebay’s latest money making scheme, Personally I would rather pay the old charges, than have a system forced on me, which is disliked by buyers, putting them off buying and certainly buying more than one item.

I used to have regular buyers who bought up to 20 items at a time, but with no ability to combine postage, and ebay fees on each purchase, it just does not happen. Ebay’s loss but they think they know best. I now stick to low priced items where I am able to use ADVANCED POSTAGE.

Ebay does not even understand that if there is Advanced postage (Do it yourself) which members prefer, then Simple Postage is also INFERIOR postage.

Honestly I have come to realise it is a money making scheme by eBay for definite. So you don't think there is a way around it at all? I have noticed myself there is a massive drop in sales and I might as well send all my stuff to charity the rate it's going

There is no way round it.

It was announced this was coming earlier this year,  and the first date for it to ' happen'  was April 15th.  It's been a slow roll out,  and if you've only now had your listings changed to SD,  you've been lucky.

It's here to stay, there's no turning back!

It looks as if you previously sent your clothing using Royal Mail Tracked 48.  With Simple Delivery, you can set your postage options to use Royal Mail only and your items will be sent using RM Tracked 48 with Simple Delivery.

You don't have to have a printer as you can download a QR code to take to the Post Office and get your label printed.

I don't like Simple Delivery but I have accepted it because I don't want the bother of learning how to use a different site.

Low sales are another matter.  I used to regularly sell 10 or more items a week but have noticed a steady drop in sales which probably began about a year ago.

Clothes are a particularly hard sell and, personally, I would not buy clothes online from a seller with a 'no returns' policy.  With so much competition from business sellers, you might find that accepting returns increases your sales.
