Create new account - bank details rejected

So I've trying to help my wife create a new account (private) to sell a few items.

Having successfully created the Ebay account and an initial listing, it then came to adding her bank details for payments. We did this, and the received a message saying in effect that her bank information looked 'dodgy' and that she needed to contact customer support. As I've been using Ebay for 14 years, I spoke to them on her behalf (with their agreement), and was asked the following questions:

- How many items would she be selling?

- What kind of items were they?

- What would be their value?

Having tried to provide a best guess, the agent went away for some time to see if the account could be 'released' and thus allow her to list items for sale. However, the answer was 'computer says no'; she was permanently blocked from ever selling on Ebay.

No reason given; just 'No'.

I tried to keep my cool and expressed my disgust that she was effectively being labelled as having criminal intentions. I don't know what ****ing algorithm they use, but it stinks! She has no criminal record, no CCJs and an exemplary credit rating.

I also told the agent that after 14 years this was the straw that broke the camel's back, and I would never again sell on Ebay.

And just to explain...

I posted the above message when logged into Ebay under my account (frazer199310). I have no idea why it is showing the new account that my wife created (maxfraze_0), which is logged out. Can Ebay software really not handle multiple accounts using the same PC?
