Counterfeit goods

Basically the seller has been selling Counterfeit goods. The seller also canclled  other advertisements with other fake goods and bids and basically eBay said it was too late for them to cancel the order.

Well it wasn't my fault they took to long to reply also meanwhile the seller was able to remove other advertisement but hasn't spoken to me about the cancellation.

What would happen if I start a chargeback with my bank also I reported to eBay that the seller also removed the previous fake goods advertisements .

It is not clear what has happened but if you bought something that was fake then when you receive it you open a Not as described dispute.

If you don't receive an item then you open a Not received dispute one day after the latest date of delivery on the listing.

You have 30 days to open a dispute on ebay. You are covered by the ebay money back guarantee. You dont need to be in touch with the seller and you should never let yourself be run out of time for that

Once that time has passed then you can try your bank for their help.

Buyers dont have an automatic right to cancel a transaction. They can request a cancellation but the seller does not have to cancel.

You say the listing was ended on the 6th of December is that when you bought it?.

If so then you are in time to open a dispute.

All disputes are automatic and done online without the need to contact ebay. You go to the item and MOre actions or click on ebay help at the top of the page where the items should come up.

If you were trying at the time you posted this then ebay would have been closed

www.ebay.co.uk/help/eua?id=5275&mkevt=1&mkpid

Weekdays lines open between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m.
Weekends they open between 9 a.m. aand 6 p.m.

Re: Counterfeit goods

The two links both show the items as ended with no bids. One has two retractions or cancellations.

Did  you actually buy and pay for the item?.

Re: Counterfeit goods

it would seems like  they have manipulated the bids who doesn't act for a good deal  also the reason they cannot show me the real series is because it doesn't show UKCA Stamp plus with the cost of living crisis things are not selling at normal prices people are having to sell things much lower then expected

Re: Counterfeit goods

You just need to deal with your transaction.

That is all you need to do.

Is the last link that you bought the item on?.

You can ask the seller to cancel but they do not have to.

If you have paid and receive the item and you are sure it is fake then see my first reply on how to deal with it.

Re: Counterfeit goods

There was  no need to go to your bank at all as stated all you had to do was to open a Not as described dispute on ebay once you received the item under the ebay money back guarantee.

If you did not recieve it then it is Not received.

You do that first and then go to the bank if you lost on ebay.

That is what the money back guarantee if for.

Re: Counterfeit goods

I had a long conversation with the seller, and it became clear that they weren’t aware the items they were selling were counterfeit. They explained that they had posted the products on multiple websites, which might have led to confusion or miscommunication.

I advised the seller against shipping the item, as it was likely fake. I also pointed out that removing multiple listings for the same item makes them appear suspicious and, combined with their lack of response to the buyer, only complicates the situation further. I told them that not replying to the buyer could make the issue worse, as it looks like they’re avoiding responsibility.

The seller also wanted to cancel the order, but due to the cancellation already being processed through eBay, they were unable to do so.

During our discussion, I also emphasized the importance of recognizing genuine products from counterfeit ones, specifically pointing out the UKCA mark, which is a key identifier for real products. I even showed them how my own £12 vape had the UKCA stamp on it, to demonstrate how genuine products always carry this certification, even if it might seem trivial. with other Apple genuine product boxes that also share the same UKCA stamp.?

Now we have to wait for the shipping estimate cut of time to escalate the issue ..

Re: Counterfeit goods

I always prioritize clear communication with my buyers. Once I ship an item, I don’t wait for eBay to update the shipping status. Instead, I immediately send the buyer the Post Office receipt or tracking number. This way, they can start tracking their package right away. I believe that providing this extra transparency helps make the experience better for both the buyer and myself. It reduces any uncertainty and shows that I’m committed to delivering great service.

Re: Counterfeit goods

The Problem: I've been struggling with a serious issue on eBay where I can’t even reply to their emails or get in touch with a human representative. Instead, I’m stuck dealing with an automated system that uses AI, but the AI is completely ineffective for real-time, specific issues like mine.

To make matters worse, I’m unable to connect with anyone in the UK, which is where I’m located. On top of all this, the seller wasn't responding to my inquiries either.

This leaves me with no clear path to resolving the issue. When I do manage to contact eBay, I often get different answers from different representatives, which just creates confusion and adds to the frustration.

So, I’m essentially left relying on other eBay members for help—hardly an ideal situation, especially when it comes to important matters like UK product compliance.

The Compliance Issue: One of the big concerns I have is that eBay is not enforcing UK product compliance properly. For example, many products sold in the UK need to meet specific standards like the UKCA mark. It's a legal requirement for certain products. But eBay seems to be neglecting this responsibility, and sellers are not being held accountable for compliance. As a result, buyers like myself are left in a difficult position, with no real way to ensure that the products we buy meet the required legal standards. Why the Current System is Failing: The biggest problem with eBay’s current approach is that they place the burden of resolution on the buyer.

When issues arise, buyers are expected to jump through hoops and navigate a convoluted system just to get help. This is made even worse when the seller isn’t responsive and eBay’s automated system can’t provide real assistance. In my case,

eBay couldn’t even cancel an order that was clearly problematic, and now I’m having to jump through even more hoops to resolve the issue. It’s eBay’s own business practices that are hurting customers, not just making the process difficult, but creating unnecessary obstacles when they should be stepping in to protect their users.

What Needs to Change: eBay really needs to rethink its customer service model, especially when it comes to handling complex issues. They should: Improve direct communication with customers, particularly in regions like the UK.

Enforce product compliance more effectively, ensuring that all products sold on their platform meet legal requirements like the UKCA mark.

Streamline the process for resolving disputes, rather than leaving buyers to navigate an automated system that only causes confusion. Take responsibility when their own system or policies cause issues, rather than shifting the burden entirely onto buyers.

At the moment, eBay’s business practices aren’t working for customers, and it’s time they make changes to better serve both buyers and sellers.

Re: Counterfeit goods

Now add this scenario to the equation

1: bid on an item
2: win
3: ask about collecting and get told it’s already been sold elsewhere.
Why does eBay not penalise these people instead of doing nothing

So now I'm not just dealing with the Counterfeit item on top of the UKCA marker but you have sellers selling things on other platforms and making it more difficult for buyer  even I have  had my seller who also admitted to having things on multiple websites ..

Re: Counterfeit goods

Just to answer a few points on your post as it would take me a long time to answer all.

We do this in our own time with no payment.

We are all buyers and/ or Sellers and have been on here many years so know the ins and outs of ebay.

Your problem was very simple and covered under the ebay money back guarantee.

If the  information you wanted was not on the listing then it would have been advisable not to buy it.

Seems you had already asked them to cancel and if that is the case then all you had to do was wait for it to complete.

You don't send buyers tracking or receipts you put that onto the item on ebay.  Advisable as if a case is opened it needs to be on there. If bought through ebay then tracking is automatically on.

Have you ever actually read the ebay money back guarantee?

https://pages.ebay.co.uk/ebay-money-back-guarantee/

You can talk to an ebay representative using the link below but when you were posting your first posts on here they were shut which is why you probably could contact.

Ebay can not possibly police the site as there are millions of items on ebay but there is a report this listing on every listing page for members to report.  They could not possble check for fake items or compliance or anything else that is one reason why you can use the ebay money back guarantee.
