Counterfeit Airpod Pro 2s

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping for some advice regarding a recent issue I’ve had as a buyer. I purchased a pair of AirPods Pro Gen 2 on eBay UK, advertised as brand new, sealed, with receipt.

The listing was for:

SEALED Airpods Pro Gen 2 with receipt - Noise Cancellation Brand New

They arrived and worked fine for a few weeks. However, when they stopped working, I took them to the Apple Store in Manchester, only to be told they’re actually counterfeit.

I contacted the seller to request a refund, but they refused. I opened a case with eBay, but it was closed with no further action possible.

Does anyone know if there are any other steps I can take? I feel like this is fraudulent and I’m concerned that eBay is allowing counterfeit Apple products to be sold. Any advice or similar experiences would be appreciated!

Sounds like you opened the eBay case too late.

You have 30 days from the item's last estimated date for delivery to make that return case for a refund,  for item not as described.

That time seems to have lapsed if the case closed,  or did you forget to escalate ?

Either way once closed,  another cannot be opened with eBay for that item,  you can try your payment provider now,  for help with your refund.

Did you pay with a debit or credit card?

If so, issue a not as described chargeback via your card provider.
