Contacting seller

I'm new to eBay so bear with me: I supposedly contacted a seller via eBay on Monday but have had no reply (after 4 days . Does that sound unusual? Should I try again?

Re: Contacting seller

What are you trying to ask?

Depends what it is, come back and explain the issue and we can tell you if it's worth trying again or how to proceed now.

Re: Contacting seller

Thanks.

I’m wanting to find out if the seller has any more background info on a vintage item that some friends bought as a gift for my husband.

Re: Contacting seller

Aaah that's a valid  and nice reason to message the seller.  Have you checked that your message is sent,  there have been some current issues with messaging.  Should be there when you click on ' Sent' in left sidebar inn Messages.

Some seller are just bad communicators,  you may not get any answer to your question.  Maybe click on the seller's listings see if they are currently selling anything.  See if they're currently active on eBay.

Nothing else you can do, but to await a response I'm afraid.

Re: Contacting seller

Remember that the seller will have no idea who you are.

You were not their customer/buyer and could simply have looked at their 'sold' items and asked a question for all sorts of reasons.

Sellers are often busy and may work full time as well as selling on Ebay.

Have you tried google or other sources to research the gift?

It it is a hobby seller, they might be interested in engaging with you but, quite honestly, many sellers would not bother to reply.

Re: Contacting seller

Ok, thanks, appreciate your honesty.

Have googled re item, not a problem, but I’m wanting to know provenance of this particular personal one if possible, hence the enquiry.

I’ll try contacting the seller again.
