Conned by a scammer ebay wont do anything to stop them scamming others.

I bought an item £50 the seller packed it very poorly and it arrived damaged and not as described, refused a refund. So i opened a dispute seller said i had admitted it was broken in the post (didn't mention the terrible packing) and again refused a refund. Couldn't get anywhere with ebay closing the dispute and moving on. So instead i went through paypal. Who said to return the item which I did despite it saying no returns. Royal mail for some reason...... couldn't deliver the parcel and their tracking would not update.  So in the end i did a chargeback though my bank. I have raised the issues with ebay at a manager level who refuse to do anything saying they cant act as paypal are involved so ebay cant deal with scammers due to paypal it doesn't control the sellers on its platform? Seems totally bizarre to me. Am totally disgusted anyone else had a similar issue? Certainly wont use paypal again.

Not sure why you are 'totally disgusted' if you have had a refund?

I am also not sure why you lost the ebay case, did you allow it to time out?  Losing the ebay case is why ebay won't do anything.  Payment disputes don't register as negatives against sellers although they can cost them an admin fee.

I think you probably mean you would not use ebay again, not paypal.

Refund was through bank chargeback ebay refuse to do anything about the seller who sent an item not as described arrived broken. Paypal then refused to refund despite clear evidence item had been returned and that it arrived to me broken. Bank stepped in and refunded why ebay told me that once paypal dispute is open that cant take any action at all.
