I've raised a complaint with Ebay regarding an expensive item I bought after questioning the seller for specific details and subsequently finding that the seller had lied. Ebay has acknowledged my complaint days ago but I've herad nothing since and not even been given a reference number for my complaint. How do I move forward to prompt Ebay to respond?
Thanks

If you've opened a return case you will be able to escalate it to ebay after 3 working days. Go to the return case, click on Case Details > Respond to Case > Escalate This Case > Submit.

It would help to be more exact about the procedure you used.
There is no such procedure as raising a complaint. You can send a return request or, if the item is not as described, open a case under eBay's money back guarantee. If you did this you would have been given a case number and be able to escalate it after four days for eBay to step in.
If you sent a return request, what is the seller's returns policy? (This will be stated in the listing.) If their policy is to accept returns but they fail to reply you can contact eBay customer support to have the return request changed to a money back guarantee case.

You would get acknowledgement from Ebay of your complaint but should not expect anything further.
They are unlikely to take action, and if they do, they won't tell you what they have done.
Sending a complaint is not the same as opening a return case.
If the item differs from what the seller stated in the listing, you must open a return.
Otherwise, nothing will happen.
It is up to you to get the ball rolling.
