Combined postage has been removed

It seems that Combined Postage is no longer an option.

If I ran an auction and sold two items, how do I now send them both in a single package?

Apparently, I can set up a discount protocol somewhere, which offers a set discount for multiples of items, but that only works if you're selling a load of the same thing. Not for standard users who are clearing out their lofts of various different things.

Also, eBay's own help pages still suggest that Combined Postage is indeed a thing, and provides help to guid you through the process (I've done it many times, even as recently as the last coupe of weeks, so it must just have changed).

What options do I have to send these two items (that are already packed up ready to go) to my Buyer?

I also note the recent change that a Seller doesn't get paid until the item has been delivered. So even if I do send as a combined package, one will not be marked as delivered now, so presumably eBay won't release the funds to me?

What a mess.

One (long-winded way) would be to cancel the current transactions (refund would be issued) and relist both items in one listing with one postage for the buyer to buy and pay again.

Or buyer pays in full and you issue partial refund.   Although, as you say, there will be an issue with the tracking.    You could contact ebay to see if they will add the tracking number onto the second item.  You can use callback on here:

I can't imagine they will get rid of combining altogether but they're obviously having problems incorporating it into Simple Delivery.  If this continues you might add a note to your listings for any buyers wanting to buy multiple items to let you know first.   The items can then be relisted on one listing with one postage cost.
