Collecting from In-Post Locker

My parcel was delivered to an in-post in my area, however when the door of the locker opened, bottom locker I may add, I couldn't see the parcel. As I stepped further back I could see the parcel way at the back of the locker, outwith my reach.

There was no way of me reaching it even if I had knelt down on a wet, dirty street. I closed the locker to go ask for help at a local shop. Unfortunately because I closed the locker all in-post and ebay correspondence shows as I have collected the parcel and I am unable to get any answers. In-post have today suggested I contact Ebay, I honestly don't know what to do.

Has anyone experienced this?

I would contact the seller - Ebay won't do anything - but, hopefully, the item will eventually be returned to the seller.

So, get in touch with the seller, explain what happened, and ask them if they will contact you if they get the item back.

If it is never returned to the seller, then I am afraid it is likely that you have lost your money.

The seller already knows and will contact me if its returned

The parcel is small so chances are no one will see it apart from whoever threw it right up the back, maybe that was the plan, they think its valuable

It was valuable to me but not for money reasons

Doubt this was the case,  what would be the benefit for that person, to come back later and take it, why later? 

 I also doubt those peeps place items carefully into those lockers, and a small item thrown in would reach the back , 'door' closed, postie's job done !
