Clarity on ebay's new policy on payments and postage.

Hi, currently i use ebay's postage options to send low value items, so 1st/2nd class letters via RM.  Of course these are not tracked - but I have never had an issue.   Sometimes its my misfortune that I have to you use EVRI, where I have MANY issues, and who also have to have the worst Customer Service around and lose parcels daily.  In fact they often can't identify the tracking number they gave me!!!!!!

So EBAY's new policy of only paying two days after deliver - my question is - How will they know, if the couriers they make us use on their platform are useless at tracking???  Does it mean everyone now has to pay more and more, for 'tracked'?

And if not we have to wait 30 days to be paid?  Have I got this wrong or are ebay just abusing its sellers, to keep hold of 'millions of pounds of our money, enjoy the interest and if postage can't be proven, keep the money'?

If you don't have a tracking number showing delivery, the wait is 14 days.

Under new system, if untracked item you have to wait 14 days to get paid,

Never been 30 days.

That's interesting because their Customer Service just told me 30 days.

Either way, the only winner is ebay, who I think declared that some of their profits in the future will be down to delayed payments.

Well someone needs to tell the Customer Service rep.

Held payments are classed as electronic money,

We are told ebay do not earn interest on it.

Actually the new user agreement says they do earn interest.

Yes, they make money on anything in the wallet, available or withheld.

It's in their interest to have disputes, they are encouraging buyers to say
items haven't arrived. ANything that keeps the money making interest and
they won't care about the eventual outcome as long as they've earned their
interest.

This doesn't benefit the buyer or seller (as someone has to pay for
increased postage protection), it only benefits eBay!

Upgrade to business seller,

Buyer fee and payment hold won't apply then.
