I am totally fed up With ordering items on ebay only to find out after payment that the item will be delivered from China.
If you purchase an item from ‘eBay Commerce UK’ why does it have to be returned to China.
All items sold on ebay should be clearly marked from china on initial sale page. Buyers would then be able to go elsewhere before purchasing.
Also Chinese sellers are often selling rubbish nowadays

You do not buy from Ebay Commerce, you buy from a seller who places ads. on ebay. Ebay sells NOTHING.
The idea is you look at LOCATION on a listing which tells you where your purchase is coming from.
You joined ebay 20 years ago, I am surprised you have never noticed LOCATION or realised that you buy nothing from ebay ( except perhaps postage now).

Many sellers in China have a distribution base in the UK, which allows them to list items as UK stock.
If an item is misrepresented as being located in the UK, but is actually send from China, this is reportable to eBay using the reporting link provided in every listing.
Report Category: Select 'listing practices'.
Reason for Report: Select 'other listing practices policy violations'
Detailed Reason: select 'Item location misrepresentation'
I agree that eBay should make it clearer when the seller is outside the UK, even though the item is described as UK stock. Regardless of the item location, there is a risk that items bought direct from sellers in China may not comply with UK safety standards. Plus, you're unlikely to have any meaningful UK statutory consumer protection if the seller is in China. (Also VAT may be payable on the listed sale price.)
If an item is listed as UK stock you do not have to return it to China in the event of a return or money back guarantee case. The seller is required to provide a UK address for the return. If it was stated to be located in China, the seller can require it to be returned to China.

Listing will show where item is posted from (or claims to be).
If you go to sellers feedback page, it will show which country they are registered in.
If you need to return item, it goes back to country it said sent from.
