Hi there all , iam wondering if someone can assist me with some advise and or direction on what I should do . 

I purchased a mobile phone from someone here on eBay 7/01/20026 , seller advised that late evening upon purchase phone was packed ready to go and about 1 hour later I noticed updated tracking details . 

The next day I checked the tracking that read           “ we’re expecting your item “ , this was the same for the following two days . It occured to me that the seller has purchased a tracking label but not actually taken the parcel to the post office . I contacted the seller querying this . Seller advised he was going to post later that day , that he hasn’t posted yet because “his post office had been closed “. 

later that day upon tracking the item It showed “ we’re expecting have your item “ , I was relieved . Two days later though and still not receiving the item I checked the tracking again, tracking showed that “there was an attempt to deliver the item but no one was home ,they will try again the following day “. Baffled I had been in all day waiting like a hawk , no post had came that day .

 

The next day I spoke with my reg post man, he agreed he had not attempted to deliver a parcel .I showed him the ref and what tracking had said and he said “ oh I tried delivering a parcel to number one on that day , it was marked “ to the occupier “ , I know the home is not vacant and its been returned back to sender . I asked the post man how big the parcel was , he said it was a larger parcel . The post man spoke with his supervisor infront of me and asked if it could be delivered to me , that I had the tracking details for that item but apparently this couldn’t happen due to the name not addressed to me etc .

 

I contacted the seller explaining what I knew , the seller said there was an attempt for delivery more than once and that it was sent to my correct address . I asked them to show me proof of receipt  and he did , it indeed showed my number door and post code . I then called Royal Mail and had a lengthy conversation with them . Royal Mail told me that it maybe a case where the  label had been bought with my address on though the parcel did not have the correct number on , or something to the effect of .

 

It’s been ten days now , the item upon tracking says it’s in London , I live in Manchester . seller lives in London . Seller  is not now responding to my texts  .

 

eBay is not allowing me to raise a dispute as tracking is showing parcel  being “ being re-delivered to me today “. Royal Mail tracking doesn’t state the parcel is being  “return to sender “ . 

could someone please offer some advise or offer their thoughts on what they think is going on please . For ref , tracking info is

Your parcel has been sent back to London.

As far as Ebay is concerned, delivery was attempted so your claim for non-delivery will fail.

You could appeal the closed case - if you have written confirmation from Royal Mail that the parcel was not addressed to you at your address that would be really useful.

However, personally, given events so far, I would now go to my payment provider (bank/credit card company/Paypal) and start a chargeback on the grounds that you have made an online purchase which you have not received.
