Change in delivery status

I've just sold a phone to buyer who lives local. Initially we agree that I would post. My plans changed and I offered him the chance to collect.  Which he has. Trouble is, how do I let Ebayknow that he now has parcel.  He's emailed me to confirm collection.  But is that enough to get my funds released? Appreciate it takes 2days. But would like to get ball rolling. 

Any advice would be appreciated

You cannot now prove delivery.

Collection items means buyer is sent a code to give to seller to enter on ebay to prove delivery.

Buyer could open a not received case and you would have to refund.

Correct procedure is to cancel sale and relist for collection. Long winded but safer for seller.

Without a collection code eBay may hold you payment for a while, at least 14 days.
