Cancellation request

I sold an item and the buyer is asking to cancel saying it was an accidental purchase. Am I allowed to decline the request? It’s so annoying.

You are allowed to decline the request, but don't.  Really, it is always better for a seller not to decline a cancellation.

If the buyer has not paid and you do nothing, after 4 days (so on day 5), you will be able to cancel using 'buyer did not pay'.  The buyer will get a non-payment strike on their account which lasts a year.

If the buyer has paid, accept the cancellation and refund.

If you refuse to cancel and insist on seeing the sale through and posting the item, the buyer might just find a reason to return it.

I know this is the right thing to do but I’m also so annoyed at the
inconvenience. Thanks. I have an option button to accept and re list. If I
use this option I think it looks like I’ll be reimbursed and fees and won’t
be charged to relish the item. Is that right?

Many thanks 🙏🏼

As a private seller, you don't pay fees to list or sell unless you use upgrades or promotions.

If you have any non-refundable fees, you will still pay them.

Will eBay charge me to relist the item? It’s not clear. The button says
accept and relist with fees. Why am I paying fees?

Many thanks

If there was a listing fee first time round because you added an optional upgrade, such as a reserve or a sub title, then you'll be charged again when you relist.

If there was no fee then there won't be one.
