Can you open case after closed case

I had a open case, for item I sold, I have proof of postage via royal mail, but my buyer said they have not received the item, I have lost out big time, I paid for the item, which is brand new, I sold at a loss, I paid for the postage, I also lost the lot, I know exactly why the buyer has done this, BC royal mail simply can't update any progress on the deliveries, therefore you have people, who literally just *bleep* take, I have had it all before, I answered the call, I have proof, every time, they then say, it's just arrived, sorry for the inconvenience, yes whatever, but I genuinely didn't see my message, for the open case, I have lost the lot now, I can't even appeal, does anyone have any other options for me please, BC my eBay doesn't seem to tell me anything,

You don't have any options, a proof of postage is not enough for ebay you must have some form of tracking, even its just a standard 1st/2nd parcel the 16 digit code helps. As a seller it is your responsibility to keep an eye on things like this, you would have had eBay messages to your messages system here on ebay as well as your private one such as gmail etc, advising of a case. You also get reminders to ensure you follow it up correctly.

If you have missed all of these mails then if the case had been escalated by the buyer and or eBay then they would have obviously refunded, with you getting a strike on your account for not dealing with the request properly.

However what I don't understand is that as a private seller surely you would have had to use simple delivery, this would have allocated a tracking number at point of printing label?

In answer to your question can you open a case after case closed, the only circumstances this happens is if a buyer opens an Item not received, item turns up case is closed but subsequently the item is not as described/damaged then yes you can re open another case.

You are a Private seller so did you use Simple Delivery for this transaction?

If so, then a buyer opening a case for item not received , proof of postage is not proof of receipt, so if the tracking did not show delivery under SD rules , the case would close with eBay paying the buyer their refund,  and you get to keep the payout from the sale.

You should not have lost out if you used Simple Delivery .
