Long story short, I bought a ski suit sold as brand new and unused, I received it and it has a hole in it. I have contacted the seller (as I believe this is the best way to resolve the situation?) to explain this and noticed the listing said they do not accept returns so wanted to suggest a partial refund as an alternative as honestly I think I could maybe mend the hole myself, just I don't agree with the price I paid for what turned out to be a damaged item.
The seller is ignoring me and not replying, if I ask ebay for help will they just force a return/refund or would they be able to approve a partial refund instead?
I know I'm protected as a buyer and can just return it for a full refund - and maybe will have to as my only option - it's just I'm a big believer in saving and reusing items of clothing via sewing and patching so if I return it, it will probably just get trashed or relisted either not making the damage obvious a second time and sold as "new" again (they didn't photograph the back of the suit where the damage is but ofc I do not know if this was intentional or just missed and wouldn't want to accuse them) or would have to be listed as a damaged item as a repair project so it would sell for less anyway. A partial refund would also save all the effort of processing and posting a return.
So is a partial refund at all possible from ebay and not directly from the seller or do I just have to return this for a refund as my only option? I just wanted to ask actual people and not ebay's useless ai, so thank you for reading this and any info anyone can give! 🙂
