Can any one let me know how to do my own postage. I am told that it is done at when you sell an item

I have tried to amend postage on items I am selling but it does not allow me to do this can anyone help.

You need to opt out of ebay's Simple Delivery.   Select Custom Postage under the Delivery Details heading during the listing or revising process.   It may be via an advanced options link.

Thank you for your help but when I go to listing it automatically goes to postage set up as simple delivery with no options.

Try clicking on Collection Only, then click back to Postage Only and Custom Options should appear.   Or remove the pre-entered postage weights.

If that doesn't work other clothes sellers are having the same problem so it looks like Simple Delivery may now be compulsory in that category.    We know it's going to happen for all categories, just not when exactly.

Try this:

When creating a new listing,  click on Collection then straight away back to and click on Postage Only, and the Custom option shows,  you are then able to select the postage service and cost you wish to use.

Or,  if there is a switch link,  click on ' Switch to Advanced Options' at the bottom of the postage section,  and once again when a pop up appears.

I have tried the links but find the Custom option comes up but postage
only stays there and I click on Custom page and nothing happens. Could I be
doing something wrong.

Which device are you using ?  If the app or mobile browser,  switch if you can to a PC / laptop and use Chrome,  it certainly allows you to do the above.
