As a seller, recently I have had buyers frequently cancelling orders mainly stating " Mistake in ordering". On 3 occasions I had already packaged the items. I feel that in this instant, ebay should at least make a charge payable to the seller, even, if it's only £1. The time and effort dealing with all of this is now becoming unacceptable. Buyers should be aware that a cancellation charge for inconvenience and time will be applied. I am also fed up with buyers using the item not received, when I send details from the carrier showing delivery they come back with oh, it's just arrived, again a total waste of the sellers time.
Sorry about the rant but feel buyers are abusing the system in their favour, and, if a seller gets it wrong, OMG we are downgraded etc.

yes, its annoying, but as a registered private seller your time cannot be charged fo.

buyers are abusing the system
And what about you?? You're currently listing over 1,000 items, the majority brand new and many with multiple items available. Yet you're still presenting yourself as a private seller.
Private sellers don't sell hundreds of new items. They are limited to selling their own. unwanted possessions. Buying items to resell requires registration as a business seller. Among other things, internet business sellers are required by law and by eBay to accept cancellations and returns, which you are currently refusing. They also pay eBay fees for listing items, which you're avoiding by registering as a private seller.
So who's abusing the system? And eBay. Maybe you've never thought about this before, but I think you need to look at eBay's guidance on selling as a business: https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/selling-policies/selling-practices-policy/business-seller-polic...
