Buyer wants to return an item

The buyer wants to return an item 5 days after receiving it, it was sold with numerous clear pictures at a low price they have now put photos of the table on the return saying it is not the same table it clearly is.  When I go to challenge the return it does  not give me the option for EBay to step in like it says is

It should any help would be appreciated.  They are clearly lying also we stated we do not accept returns.  Thanks

If a buyer opens a return because they say the item is different or has something wrong with it, you have no choice but to accept it.

Hi even when it's clearly the item advertised?

Re: Buyer wants to return an item

Ebay will almost always go with the buyer in these cases. Ebay doesn't see the item when you send it, and does not see it when it is received.

Just accept the return, refund, and relist it for a higher price to get your lost postage back.

I've been here for over 20 years, and that 's a first for me!

eBay regularly explains to sellers that as they never see the items concerned they "can't tell who has the valid case, or take sides". As *guinevere" has said, it's evident from questions asked here that their default policy is to find in the buyer's favour, and make the seller refund them.

Well done anyway! I'm glad you won your case, but if this was really the reason for supporting you I can't help feeling there must have been some other factor involved. For example that your buyer might have been repeatedly reported for abusing the money back guarantee, and restricted from making further claims.

Re: Buyer wants to return an item

I did report him and ask them to look into him, because it was obvious he was trying something on, the pictures I posted on EBay were numerous and exceptionally clear. Also it was £19.99 not a fortune paid for, it was worth the amount and he didn't try to resolve it the initial message was nasty and demanding. They did say they would submit a report to see if he had previous, maybe that was the case. But what ever the reason for them deciding to close the case it can be done. I just received an email saying case closed and I didn't have to refund. But I don't think as sellers we should give in, the only way EBay will change their policies is if enough complain. It was hard work and lengthy challenging it, but worth it I believe, the buyer obviously has you over a barrel if you don't dance to their tune and they'll put negative feedback obviously it's not fair and EBay need to know that. Some people don't have to have a reason to behave like this control boredom whatever, but if they waste my time I'm challenging them!

Re: Buyer wants to return an item

I wonder whether ebay gave the buyer a goodwill refund from their own coffers? They have been known to do this in some cases.
