I put some high value amps on for pick up only so they can be shown working and not risk transport damage. The buyer bought and is now wanting to send a courier to pick up. Should I cancel the sale or if I get the pick up code is it now his risk and no refund can be asked for and if so how do I prove he used a courier to pick up? Thansk

By sending carrier buyer invalidates ebay MBG.
But, you must not allow collection by carrier unless buyer gives you collection code 1st.
If any issues, you can cancel - problem with buyers address.

Is there a way to prove to eBay that the person sent carrier. E.g. if I get them to specify in the messaging chat that that is what they are doing?

It would do no harm, as even though using a courier invalidates the money back guarantee, if buyer opened a not as described case, you would have to prove to ebay that it was not collected in person.
Knowing how ebay sides with the buyer, any evidence is worth having to prove your point.

Actually, this is no longer correct. This is one of the changes introduces in eBay's new, "designed for online use" money back guarantee policy.
Sending a courier no longer invalidates eBay's money back guarantee. Only that "Your purchase won't be covered for damage in transit if you arrange your own delivery".
In other words, provided they don't mention damage in transit buyers can now open an "Item not as described" case for other reasons. The seller will be responsible for arranging and paying for the return delivery.

I can't see that change.
Best to only allow collection in person and as I said don't let item go until seller gets code.
