Buyer wants to change delivery address

Hi folks,

Just sold an item for £100 . The buyer has paid but then told me the address auto-completed and wrong.

I choose the simple delivery method so have a prepaid label ready.

Can I just put their correct address and stick it over the address part of the label?

Sounds like this leaves me open for an 'item has not arrived' scam.

But if I cancel and relist there will be fees. And does the cancellation count against my rating?

Thanks

Buyer wants to change delivery address

There are no listing fees for private sellers.

As advised, cancel the sale and refund the buyer.

Relist the item - you can use BIN if that suits you and the buyer although, depending on how they paid, the buyer might not get their payment back immediately.

Keep the buyer 'in the loop'.  Explain you have cancelled, refunded and relisted and you are happy for them to buy the item again but they must use their correct address at checkout.

Ebay will refund the buyer for postage but that might take a while.

Buyer wants to change delivery address

Never send an order out to a different address, buyers have the opportunity to change their delivery address at checkout before paying.

You can cancel by selecting the 'problem with buyers address' reason. They can then re-purchase with their correct address.

What fees are you paying? Did you promote your listing or add a chargeable upgrade such as a Reserve?

Buyer wants to change delivery address

Thanks for the prompt reply,

On the option to cancel the order it says relist with fees, maybe as I listed last weekend when there were no fees?

I'll let buyer know and try to cancel. Do you know the best way for them to re-purchase? As a buy it now I guess?
