I sold this on 15th dec. messaged buyer saying congrats - when would you like to pick up. They asked where the item was located - it was stated in the listing. Then replied 3 days later to say they were too busy and would “update me after Christmas”. I wanted these 8 chairs (for nine pounds) out of my house before Christmas. I asked them to collect before Christmas or if they preferred I could cancel the sale and they said they already paid on 15th. Now I fear they might ruin my (perfect since 2002) rating because I’m pressuring them to pick up. I’ve never had someone not pick up within a couple of days so it didn’t occur to me to say please pick up within 10 days. What can I do?

Annoying when a buyer buys then makes their ' own' delivery times as to when they are coming to collect.
Hard one to call here, it's usual for a collection item to give a buyer 7 days to collect, 10 ten days is not that much longer outside that timeframe, though I fully understand wishing such a large item to go before Christmas, as said, the buyer is not being reasonable here. You could cancel and refund after 7 days.
If you give them that 7 day deadline after which you will cancel and refund, they may well leave you a negative feedback, and depending how they phrase it, eBay may or may not remove it.
If you agree to the item being collected after Xmas perhaps give them a firm date to collect, if not collected, then you will need to cancel the order and refund.
