Buyer protection

Anybody know why ebay started buyer protection and charging us for it. When it's something I've always had. Anything go wrong in the past you had you money back. So why now are we paying more on top. I was watching tyres for £100 and suddenly they went up by £4.70.thought it was strange and now I see that's what they are doing. So greedy

All the details are here:

The fee was introduced several months ago - you should have bought the tyres when you first spotted them, rather than waiting and watching.
