Buyer protection fee

So I’m a little confused! It says the buyer pays the protection fee but I’ve just accepted an offer on an item for 130 then 10 p+p so 140 , I am only getting 134 odd and still got to pay the postage so essentially I’m paying the protection fee ??

Buyer protection fee

Yes, in that sense you are but I suppose ebay would regard the offer as £134.

Buyer protection fee

The seller only needs to look at the 'you will receive' amount to see what they will get.

The buyer makes their offer including the fee, in this case £130 +post, eBay will take the fee from this and send the rest to seller who ends up with £134

This is a regular question. Oddly, eBay adds the buyer protection fee to the sale price in auctions and BINs, but deducts it from offers, when accepted.

This is explained to buyers, many don't read it. We have even received questions from buyers who don't understand why their offers were not high enough.

Buyer protection fee

It’s annoying when you accept the offer and then I’d expect that amount and
the fee should be on top of:(

Buyer protection fee

Buyers offer what they want to pay.

This includes BPF.

Ebay could make it clearer with offers.
