Just a statement for eBay, although they probably don't monitor. I went to put, what I consider a fair offer, to a private buyer, considering other shops and Amazon next day free for me. Unfortunately I have not proceeded with my offer, because eBay automatically increased my offer. In small pale text they added some £1.77 for "buyer protection". I don't need 'protecting' and certainly I don't need to pay extra for it. The BIN price appears to include this hidden fee at Checkout and in small pale text eBay shows some £1.98 is included. eBay hiding this fee in a private listing price but stealthily adding it to an offer, has dissuaded me from buying from eBay and staying with Amazon, where what I see is what I pay. If I deducted their stealth fee, I am sure my offer would be rejected by the private seller for being too low. Amazon prices have indeed increased, but proportionally, so have eBay's private and business prices. I don't see the point of being a private seller on eBay anymore, especially when now. eBay are handing shipping and withholding payments. All I see that eBay are doing is promoting Amazon and Market Place. I buy mechanical, technical, electronic component things, so eBay's comparisons to Vinted, Etsy etc are irrelevant. We don't all just buy clothes and cosmetics...!
