Buyer is being rude and threatening

Sold an item to a person who was really entitled and did not bother to come and collect the item, they sent a cheap delivery man - one person to collect a heavy item; then insisted on me helping the driver and after I refused the buyer was sending threats and I am now quite scared they know my home address. The driver collected the item managed to get it down themselves. I have quite a negative impression with the buyer and not sure how do deal with it.

If they are making threats against you or your property, you must go to the police.

If they are being rude, just find any of their messages and click on the ... top right of the message to report the messages to Ebay.

Do not respond to any messages from them.

Add them to your blocked bidders list.

Then hope they don't decide to be completely horrible and open a 'not as described' case.

It depends what kind of threats are being sent.

If ' just' verbal bad language abuse,  ignore them they will soon get bored and with no reaction from you,  will stop.

If they are threatening to your safety,  print them off,  and take the threats to the Police who treat this very seriously now.

As they sent someone to collect it and did not collect in person, they have excluded themselves from the ebay money back guarantee.

If they were to open a case come back here for advice.

You do please need to be more explicit about the nature of the threat. The risk of occasionally encountering unpleasant and abusive users is unfortunately part and parcel of trading with strangers on eBay. Threats made on eBay can range from threatening to leave bad feedback to threatening to come round with a baseball bat!

In short, to report "ordinary" abuse and misuse of eBay's messaging system see:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/member-behaviour-policies/membertomember-contact-policy?id=4262

https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/selling/resolving-buyer-issues/report-issue-buyer?id=4084&st=12&pos=1&qu...

Actual or implied threats of physical violence, or any message that leave you feeling fearful, should be reported to the police. They will take it seriously.
