Buyer collection

I cannot see anything related to the buyer collection option on my ebay. I’ve read about the buyer having a 6 digit code but I can’t seem to work out where I can enter this code to verify collection

Proof of collection

Proof of collection is required to protect you against item not received cases. 

For proof of collection you can choose one of these options:

• On desktop, manually enter the buyer's 6 digit code in View order details
• Use the eBay app to scan the QR code the buyer received through email
• Use the eBay app to manually enter the 6-digit code the buyer received through email
• Ask the buyer to confirm they’ve collected in person through the item’s order details

To scan the QR code or enter the 6-digit code:

1. Go to Selling on the eBay App.
2. Go to the Orders tab.
3. Select the sold item being collected.
4. Click the drop down button on the blue Send Payment Reminder banner at bottom of the page.
5. Select Scan collection code from the list of options.
6. You can either scan the QR code or manually enter the 6-digit code the buyer received through email.

Yes. Optional postage or collection. Buyer paid for postage then messaged to say they are collecting

If the buyer has paid for postage they wont have a collection code for you to confirm collection

Have they already collected? If not it's best to cancel this sale with their agreement and relist so they can select collection and receive the code, if they have already collected you need to click get label for posting as this will mark the item as despatched then wait at least 14 days for your payment, the buyer will be refunded for the unused label.

If the buyer went for the postage option then they are not going to get a collection code and you won't have anywhere to put one in.  It's a choice of one or the other (delivery or collection) on ebay and you can't change it after purchase.

In order to protect yourself you should cancel this sale and relist as collection only for the buyer to buy again.
