Hi I sold a cardigan this week and now I see that the buyer is selling that same cardigan for a profit. Is that allowed?

eBay used to respect sellers' intellectual property rights to their images and descriptions. Now, to quote eBay's Images, Videos and Text Policy "When you create listings you give eBay and its customers permission, through our user agreement, to use your images, videos and product details".
So any seller can now copy and use any other seller's pictures. How many buyers realise that the item shown in the picture may not even be the actual one they will receive?
eBay now even prohibits sellers from watermarking their images to show their ownership of them. For details see: https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/listing-policies/images-videos-text-policy?id=4240&st=12&pos=3&...

Yes. It's annoying to see but that's why a lot of people buy on ebay. They look for bargains to resell.

Thank you so much. I sell a lot of things on ebay, my personal items and this has only happened once before and that person sold the cardigan for what she paid me for so I didn't mind so much. This is really annoying and she has used my photos too!!!
Anyway thank you and have a good weekend

Adding to the advice given, we often advise peeps who receive an item perhaps it didn't fit, or for a change of mind decision, to sell the item on themselves, especially if the seller has a No Returns policy which would not cover those reasons.
Your buyer had a bonus of being able to sell it on for more !

Hi thank you for your explanation. I am really surprised that some items sold are not actually the item they have brought or receive - I must be too honest ! Anyway, in this case I was so surprised that the seller listed this cardigan so quickly as she only received it on Thursday. I have had this only once in the past but then the buyer contacted me to say the item was too small and she was going to sell it on but she sold it for the same price she brought it from me so I didn't mind so much. I have learnt something today.
Thank you again.
Have a good weekend.

It seems to me that using a photo of a similar item from ebay’s catalogue is just inviting Not As Described cases. In many cases probably picture of a new item, but item for sale is second hand.
Also indicates a lazy seller, who probably just uses “Sell something similar”.
