Buyer Protection postage claims

Hi, Can someone advise as to whether this statement is correct. If I sell an item for £1300 eBay covers the full cost should it go missing in transit under its Buyer Protection, regardless as to what level of postage the buyer pays for and carrier used. Is there an advantage in using eBays Simple Postage? Thanks

Simple Delivery does cover items but only up to £750.    Above that price you should be able to opt out of SD.
