Buyer Protection Fee

I don't like the way that ebay take the buyers fee out of the buyers offer. Its confusing. Its supposed to be the BUYERS fee, I should get what the buyer has offered in full and ebay should ADD the fee to the buyers payment.

Many don't like it but it's how it works.

You would prefer it worked another way, but ebay are not going to change it.

Businesses using ebay business accounts don't have the fee applied.

Re: Buyer Protection Fee

Thank you for your message. I hear what you say. However, I strongly believe it is wise to speak up when I am displeased  with a situation that could be amended. Otherwise the culprit will think I am perfectly happy when I am not.

You may think ebay will not change but if they believe the change may be productive or, enough people bring to their notice the same subject, they may decide to alter the procedure.

In other words my post may not necessarily be a negative. Don't ask, don't get.

Re: Buyer Protection Fee

Ebay does not read here, but the simple answer us if you do not like the offer decline and make a counter offer.

This buyer protection fee is not liked by buyers or sellers, and as it is not for the Money Back Guarantee which is free, it in my opinion is a back door way to make money for services which are hardly likely to be used.

This is what it covers -

What does Buyer Protection include?

With Buyer Protection, you benefit from:

  • 24/7 customer service: Get support around the clock if you need help.
  • Risk monitoring and fraud detection: We actively monitor marketplace activity to identify risk and potential fraud and take action to keep you protected.
  • Secure transactions: All payments are encrypted end-to-end and handled by our trusted payments partners.

Hardly worth the paper it is not printed on, with hopeless customer service.
