Buyer Protection Fee

Hi,

I’ve just received confirmation on a successful bid with confirmation of the amount + cost of postage.

i went into my account to settle up my purchase and found this amount now

had a buyers protection fee added.

i was under the impression the successful bid amount already included the buyer protection fee?

Can you add a screenshot to show where it's added and not included in your winning bid?

Are you sure it doesn't show breakdown of sold price & BPF?

Please see attached the initial confirmation of winning bid and then revised amount showing additional buyer protection fee.

That shows £88.08 + £3.38 P&P.

Also says INCLUDING £4.04 BPF.

Are you confusing P&P with BPF.

All these costs are shown on listing.

I don’t think I’m getting confused.

The first snapshot clearly states I have won and to pay the £84.04 + £3.38 postage. When I went in the next day to settle my purchase this then stated purchase price was £88.08 + £3.38 postage.

According to eBay Ts&Cs the buyer protect fee is already included in your confirmed winning bid, whereas here they’ve either added it twice or afterwards.

Not sure this is relevant but it was more than what is being asked for here.

You can see attached where it states Buyer Protection Fees should not be added afterwards.

Another issue I have is contacting eBay directly for clarity…which appears to be impossible.

For some reason the first notification is showing your winning bid excluding the BPF, the second shows the amount it went for including the BPF, I.e your winning bid.

The first notification is wrong and shouldn't have been issued.  You might want to ask ebay about that.
