Bladed Item - age verification currently broken?

Trying to buy what is considered to be a bladed item (hedge trimmer) - ebay state that I must verify my age in order to purchase, but I can't find any way to do that (I've even added a credit card to my payment methods in the hope that would fix it, but no luck) - is the system currently broken? (Tried to ask the 'agent' bot, but it doesn't recogniose the term age verification so got nowhere fast!)

Any pointers gratefully received....

You should be able to add or use credit card at checkout.

Thanks, but I can't get to checkout - it throws an error message ("There was an issue processing your request.") - I've also tried to submit an offer but that simply states the policy but doesn't give me the option to verify my age - guess the system is broken at present....
