Hi I bought a Biorb halo 30 litre fish tank from on 21/01/2025.
on setting it up I found the the Mcr light wasn’t working.
i phoned the vendor and asked for a resolution to fault.
after several phone calls they asked if I had the means to package it up and they would pick it up.
I don’t have the means to package up but suggested an alternative.
if the sent me a replacement and a packing label I’d pack the item in the same packaging.
they said they could do that but I’d have to pay a deposit for the replacement has they’re had people in the past who didn’t return the faulty item.
I think this is totally unacceptable as I bought the item in good faith and paid promptly.
In essence I feel they are accusing me of being untrustworthy.
i feel it’s incumbent on them facilitate my request without the need of a deposit .

It's also completely unnecessary.
This is all covered by eBay's money back guarantee. There is a link to this in every qualifying listing, or see: https://pages.ebay.co.uk/ebay-money-back-guarantee/
All you have to do is to use it. Just open an "item not as described" case and wait three working days for the seller to respond. After this, the option will appear to escalate the case if necessary for eBay to step in to enforce a refund. If the seller wants the item back they will be required to send you a prepaid return label (if the item was in the UK).
A case MUST opened within 30 days of the latest estimated delivery date, or of the actual date of delivery if recorded. Just read and follow the process - if there's anything you're not sure about people here are always willing to help.

The problem is that the OP will still have to find packaging even if they get a label through the MBG.
