I sold a pair of trainers that where to big for my husband they had been in the cupboard in a box for about 2 years. Perfect condition new in box with tags. I bought them from a well known sports shop but cany find proof of purchase anyway the buyer is saying they are fake and is returning them, now I think they have taken my trainers and sending me fake ones back! What can I do if this happens

Come back and ask if you do get something back that is different to what you sent. Until that happens there is no issue to deal with.

The chances are that they will reurn the original trainers.
More likely just trying to fiddle a free change of mind return return at your expense. eBay never checks, just takes the buyer's word.

adding to the advice already given -
As they are leather and you have had them foe 2 years there could be problems with aging and that could have caused the buyer to think they are fake.
