Age verification

Hi , I attempted to bid on a chainsaw as I have done many times before over the last 20 years.  I was told I couldn’t bid without age verification as it was a bladed item (it was for spare parts) a message told me eBay needed credit card details to check my age , a debit card is not sufficient. I have never had a credit card and never will. Is this a scam or has my 20 years of regular eBay come to an end.

No,not a scam, this is new changes from ebay regards safety measures,so you will need a credit card to show your 18yrs old or over to buy certain bladed items.
