Why is the only way to verify your age through a fudging credit card, I haven't got one, I'm not getting one just to verify my age.

This is ridiculous, also you can't speak to an eBay agent to sort it out!!!!!!! Bloody impossible.

I just want to buy some multitool blades, they are smaller than 2 inches, the legal limit for a blade length to carry in public. I mean !!!!!! What the fudge, for fudge sake, they are multitool accessories not a bloody zombie knife. 

eBay need to sort out alternatives to age verification other than a credit card. Sort this the fudge out.....

Proof of age is the law for bladed items.

Yes, there are various ways,but ebay only accept credit card as it is easy and quick way.

Ask a friend with CC to buy for you.

I doubt whether eBay sees it this way. Like you, most buyers who post here about this only want to buy small replacement blades for tools.

eBay would probably say that it's not cost effective to set up alternative ways to verify age. Have you considered how this could be done? To record a buyer' account as age verified would require submission of documentary evidence to eBay, which would have to be checked and recorded. This would take time and involve costs which I imagine eBay would pass on as a fee.

Would you be willing to do this? I doubt whether many buyers would. I can understand why eBay has opted to require payment by credit card, which is self-verifying as buyers have to be aged 18 or older to hold one.
