Additional shipping fee message

I have ordered this item and received an odd message from the supplier saying I need to pay £3 extra and then they will refund it at the end. Or I can cancel my order. This looks dodgy to me. Should I cancel the order?

You should not be required to pay any more than the shipping cost shown on the listing --- 

You only have 30 days from estimated delivery date to open an official  'Item not received' case below --- follow the instructions carefully and escalate to eBay on day 4 for their assistance in obtaining a refund >

They are probably trying to get you to ask to cancel so they don't get a defect.

undercharging for postage or making a loss does not block them sending the item to you - they must think you are a fool.
