Additional £1 charged separately

I've been charged an extra £1 by ebay when buying items. 

I have just noticed 2 extra payment of £1 after buying 2 separate items on ebay in the last two days.

This was not a charitable donation.

I've reported this to ebay,  and they are investigating.

Sounds very odd, it will be interesting to hear what eBay report back to you.

Items bought from international based sellers will incur an extra 20%, but that would be added at eBay checkout and would show before you authorise payment.

I can't think of a scenario whereby an extra £1 is taken after you've paid.

A similar thing has just happened with Etsy (taking an additional £1).

I've just spent some time on the phone to Ebay, PayPal and my credit card company (MBNA).

Ebay and PayPal have assured me that they didn't take the additional £1 and MBNA have told me that they didn't! 

But it should be credited back within a few days.

So not a problem but how odd.

Sounds more like an issue to do with payment card as it happens on other sites.

But at least MBNA are refunding you.
