Hello all, I need some assistant, I have had a ebay account for a couple of years, I have started clearing my spare room and listing the odd item, have sold about 10 plus items, dispatched on time and have started to get good feedback, Now I am one toe in the new school, so far all I have submitted to ebay is my banking basic address details etc, Now my account is on a held option due to ID purposes, I have never been abroad or drove a vehicle, sad I know but I lived my life up to the 70's not needing to,

So what can I submit to ebay to get me back up and running,I only own a bus pass with a photo rest is on tarnished paper,

Thank you help needed

A dormant account suddenly being used after a long break for selling raises red flags to eBay as it could be a sign of the account bring hijacked so therefore proof, ID proof ,  that real owner of the account has returned is needed.

You'll need to contact Customer Services explain the issue, they'll hopefully advise the ID you now need to show if the usual proofs are not in your possession.

I do strongly recommend contacting CS first thing in the morning when  the lines first pr for ' Live agents''  as there's more chance of Dublin answering and understanding the ID proofs we have here.

This is the easiest and quickest way to contact eBay Customer Services, for a Call Back option.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/eua?id=5275&mkevt=1&mkpid

Lines open for ' live agents' 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. on weekdays

9 a.m. - 6 p.m. on weekends.

Automated agents will be available on chat outside of the above hours.

I recommend contacting CS first thing in the morning as there's more chance of Dublin answering.

If the ID you have provided is not accepted,  you will need to contact CS and ask about the ID now required and will be accepted.

As I mentioned above,  best to contact CS first thing in the mornings when lines first open as there's more chance of Dublin answering.

No, the UK does not have an official, government-issued national ID card for citizens, as the national identity card scheme was abolished in 2011.

However, the CitizenCard is a widely recognised, Home Office-approved proof of age and ID card available to UK residents for everyday identification purposes, such as pro...

Not sure if it's accepted as ID for eBay's Managed Payment verification purposes,  for this you'd need to ask CS to confirm.

Then what options is there, no driving licence or passport never needed either.

Other options government Id which is not a compulsory UK item to own, or a residence permit and I have lived in the UK since birth only 74 years long, They need more options, I will ring them because clearly on the chat option they do like to fob you off.
