Abuse at ebay collection point

At 3pm on 1/2/25, I called in at Newsbuys, 62 Main Street, GLASGOW G73 2HY, United Kingdom, to collect my ebay order, as I had received notice from DHL that it had been delivered that morning, but no ebay collection code had been issued. I explained this to the store assistant, at which point he became defensive and argued that anything that had arrived had been scanned already and I would receive a collection code in due course. However, he inexplicably scanned the item, from his point of view for the second time. He then became aggressive and asked me to get out of his shop.

Perhaps not so coincidentally, at 15.14, I received the update from ebay telling me that parcel was ready for collection.

15.20 I returned to Newsbuys, and was subjected to a tirade of verbal abuse and threatening physical behaviour.

I was told to "f*ck off" several times and called a "piece of sh*t" by the same shop assistant, then told to leave his shop because I would not apologise.

He told me that the parcel would now be returned, as the customer did not show up to collect it.

His behaviour was erratic, puzzling and criminal. If I had a witness to this ordeal, I would be pursuing this matter through the police.
I cannot understand how this treatment could possibly be considered acceptable by ebay, and surely falls short of any standards of customer service.

Sadly ebay has no control over shop keepers attitudes, and it's not good to hear you were so rudely treated.

Maybe give the collection code to a member of your family or friend to collect on your behalf.
