A seller asked me to cancel an order i paid for. He has now disappeared, I have had no comms or refund. There is no option on ebay to resolve this.

You as a buyer cannot cancel an order, only seller can cancel. If seller cancels an order it automatically generates a refund.

You need to explain exactly what happened and how you “cancelled” the order.

Buyers can ask to cancel but they can't actually cancel, only a seller can, and if they do, then a refund is automatic.

Have you waited until after the original expected delivery date and then tried to open a case for item not received?
