refunding a buyer

i found it almolst impossible to find anywhere to refund a buyer on the ebay account, so i just went to paypal and did it that way. was that correct? i assumed as the two are linked everything will work  out!

For information >> Refunds/Returns/Cancel requests should only be processed through an appropriate formal eBay case ... ask the buyer to open an appropriate case and only refund through that case ... ensure that you have sufficient funds in your PayPal account to fully cover the total refund amount >

Refunding directly from PayPal (separate companies) outside an eBay case can leave you with a loss of fees and a possible account defect.   Suggest that you contact eBay Customer Services to let them know that you have already refunded through PayPal.

thank you, it would make it easier if there was a "drop down" to cancel and refund along with the "sell a similar item" "relist" and "mark as despatched".

there is, the drop down next to the sold item contains the option to cancel the sale!
