ebay charge about 10% on what i sell im ok with that but why do they charge 10% on postage when i make nothing on postage. Do i need to adjust all my postage costings to cover that 10% this does come across as a bit greedy of ebay.

eBay introduced that charge in September 2013.

There seems to be two schools of thought on why eBay charge 10% on postage.

One is that some sellers were listing an item at a rock bottom price but loading up the postage i.e., £0.99 selling price, postage £50.00 thereby depriving eBay of their FV fee. eBay closed that loophole by loading up the fee on postage themselves.

The other school of thought is that eBay do it because they are unregulated and can charge whatever they like.

Sellers now need to take that charge into account when setting the selling price for their item, so that the buyer pays that charge.
